Shapez 2 is a top-down simulation game that allows players to construct their own functional digital factory. The main purpose is to develop various systems that produce increasingly complex three-dimensional shapes. It offers players much more user control and boasts novel shape mechanics.
The developers of Shapez 2 claim that this version is the next iteration of the original Shapez.io platform. While some elements are indeed similar, the fluid nature of this updated version should appeal to fans of the classic bundle.
Automation plays a key role in Shapez 2. Users will be provided with a series of modular systems that can be grouped together in a digital assembly line. While players begin with only basic shapes, they will soon be able to create numerous combinations as well as a host of different colors.
Unlike the original version of Shapez, this upgrade now enables players to toggle between two- and three-dimensional perspectives. This will be very useful when creating different "layers" within the factory. For instance, it is now possible to place wire bundles on top of conveyor belts.
Another difference between Shapez 2 and the previous version is that the environments are much more open in nature. This allows users to visualize the associated manufacturing processes in greater detail as well as to appreciate any optimization changes that might need to take place.
There are few limits in terms of what can be accomplished when playing Shapez 2. From unlocking trains to transporting goods or accessing a plethora of skills found within a research tree, innovation serves to define this latest upgrade. Anyone who enjoys other management-based platforms, such as SimAirport, should be pleased.
